{ "msg" : "unknown command"} [UBUNTU]

Postby javierdl on Wed May 19, 2010 5:27 pm

Ok I finally made it to a Linux based OS (Ubuntu)! I must say, Corefarm was my immediate reason to do it ;)
I was using Win7 and I couldn't use Naclys.
Please keep in mind that I'm barely getting to know some command line and I still have a very long way to go :(
That being said, I need some help using the command line in the Naclys instructions:

" ./naclys --login mylogin --password mypassword --store-dir /tmp --ui-root doc_root --ui true "

My login and passw is not a problem obviously, but what is the rest? (store-dir /tmp --ui-root doc_root)

Btw, the message in the subject line is what I get when I click on the word "interface" in the Submit How to page

Thanks guys,

JDL

Hi Javierdl!

the --store-dir setting is used to select the temporary directory where to store the images tiles

the --ui-root option select the folder where the html files of the interfaces are stored. the default one is doc_root.

you should get the interface by browsing http://localhost:20348/ . If it is not the case, it is that the --ui-root option is wrong. Can you check for the existence of the index.html file in the folder you specified as --ui_root ?

Hope it helps !

All the best,

William

Thanks a bunch for your reply William :)

Here's what I've got :
javier@javier-desktop:~$ ./naclys --login javierdl --password mypasshere --store-dir /tmp --ui-root /home/javier/Applications/naclys-0.0.10/doc_root --ui true
bash: ./naclys: No such file or directory
javier@javier-desktop:~$

Why won't it find the file? I even copy the index.html file's address by copying it from it's properties window.

Where did I go wrong?

J

Hi Javier,

You have to go in the right folder. Right now your are in '~', your home folder. You have to move to the folder where you have downloaded naclys. (Using the 'cd' command).

Hope it helps !

-/Applications/naclys-0.0.10 naclys --login javierdl --password rushrush --store-dir /tmp --ui-root index.html --ui truebash: -/Applications/naclys-0.0.10: No such file or directory

:(

Should I move the naclys directory to another location to simplify the address path?

No, you need to add "./" before naclys to tell the system where you want it to look for the program :

-/Applications/naclys-0.0.10 ./naclys --login javierdl --password rushrush --store-dir /tmp --ui-root index.html --ui true

Hope it helps

Ok, and where am I supposed to be when I use this path? Right in the doc_root dir? Or in home? or it doesn't matter?
