Naclys crashes on Windows 7

Postby guybrush on Sun Jul 25, 2010 2:05 pm

Hi,

My school has a proxy running on port 8080. However, when I run Naclys with the --proxy option, it crashes with the following message:
Code: Select all
This application has requested the Runtime to terminate it in an unusual way.
Please contact the application's support team for more information.

Any help would be appreciated. I'm running Windows 7 32bit.

Thanks,
Guybrush

Hi,

Sorry for the late reply. What do you specify as a proxy? The proxy feature has never been really tested, and worst, naclys has never been tested on win7. The latest naclys, in the repository (code.google.com/p/naclys), branch qtgui is much more advanced, but unfortunately there is no longer any contributor to maintain it .. (that is, building and release it in fact)

Hi William,

Oddly, it doesn't seem to be crashing now. However, it's giving me the "ERROR: Are you connected to the internet?" message.

I'm using the command:

Code: Select all
naclys --login guybrush --proxy xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx

Thanks for looking at this. Btw, I've got some basic qt experience and used to write code for a living. If no one's looking at it and if it's reasonably well documented, perhaps I could take a look?

Hi,

Have you set your credentials ? (Using the configuration page: http://localhost:20348/configuration.html ?)

It would be great if you could have a look at the qt naclys. I can't run corefarm.org alone, it would be fantastic if we could gather a community around this project. The sources are here : http://code.google.com/p/naclys/source/ ... ches/qtgui

the best way to get information about this naclys would be to ask its developer directly, wawanbreton (his email is accessible from the google code page).

Thanks !!!

Can't even get that far. Naclys refuses to start with error message.

Ok, then I'm afraid there is no use that you spend too much time trying to get it working; naclys has never been tested on windows 7. Corefarm.org definitely needs contributors !!! (this is a call for action ;) )

Meanwhile, if you look for a professional service, there is www.corefarm.com (supporting yafaray and luxrender).

Already on it :). Sent an email to the developer for instructions on setting it up (to wawanbreton at gmail, couldn't find any other id), downloaded the source through svn and getting qt-creator now.

Can't promise anything though, I'm not too good with c++ and I've never worked on networking in c++. But I'll see if there's anything I can do.

That's awesome!!! There are also other contributors willing to work on the documentation, I'm pretty sure that corefarm.org will improve very fast with your help !!

Thanks!
