arg. It seems it crashed during the sending process, when prone returns the result to the server.

Ok, this is bad news - and as far as I know, you are the only one in this case. Do you know if you have several versions of boost installed ? do you have a valid build environenement, like msvc ?

In fact it would be great if somebody recompiled prone for windows, to double check. It must be a library issue : there are 10 prones connected right now and you seems to be the only one facing an issue.

Well, i'm thinking on that ..

sorry !

"...several versions of boost...", what do you mean with that ?
"...a valid build environenement, like msvc ?", what is "msvc" and how can I check if I have a valid buil environement ?

The version that still crashes is th eone I've installed at work on my workstation, let's say I'm not the network adminitrator there ;-)
Possibly there are some restrictions on that machine.. ?

I'm just testing it on some other workstations that I've installed by myself and it seems to work pretty stable until now, it crashed only one time yet on one workstation.
all 3 ws are working on a job now and using 100% (! :-)) of cpu power.

well let's see after finishing the job if I even get credits for it :-)

I'll keep on testing.

Kind regards

No crashing yet!

As I has waited a long time today due to test on corefarm, I can see that my last test job worked now- a 1600x1200px big image with SSS-fake simulating snow with heavy bumbmaps was rendered in 39min. It needed 73266 credits ( so I have now a big neagtive avlue of Credits.... :D )
With my pc (DualCore a 3GHZ, 2GB Ram, GT8800) it would have last several hours.

That looks great!

But:

I have parts of another job not submitted by me inside. (some stairs)- so two jobs were mixed up.
See here ...

I hope this was due to testing.

Generally it looks all very promising!

I succesfully earned credits with the 2 xp workstations in the office of a friend of mine :-) and prone still runs without crashing.

There must be something wrong on the workstation at work.

I hope I soon can go deeper into yafaray to test a "real" project with it.

Thanks to williams again for his great effort !

Kind regards

Another test:
Usually the rendering now tested needed 135 min. I doubled the size, and increased a bit the rendering settings, so it would have been last more than 9 hours!
Now done in 23 min! :D
Only some black dots can be seen, but that would have happened on my system as well.

Hi !

wow, what an impressive scene !

the job mixing problem (stairs ..) is solved, I did some experiments yesterday and I introduced a bug. Sorry for that !

the blacks dots are a bad issue : why do you say it would had happen on your computer as well ? I rather believe that there is a bad prone working somewhere. I'm investigating on that.

Tests on corefarm are more and more impressive, thanks !!

Have a nice day !

and by the way, can you create a new topic with your benchmark ? let's keep the forum organized !
