The image I prepared for a testing in 3200 x 2400 resolution
was rendered:

locally on core2quad -> 9 hours 44 minutes
on corefarm -> 30 minutes 48 sec

http://www.michalwozniak.com/dane/last_test.jpg

I think if there will be even more participating computers rendering could be fastest..:)

All the best

Very thanks for William GREAT "COREFARM" WORK

Wow that's really nice score :) i have just registered contributing my 4 cores and maby later i'll add 2 more :) BTW is there a 64 bit windows version? This would be a significant boost in render speed.

Hi!

Welcome to the corefarm community ! Did you installed prone 0.1.4 ? there was an issue with the previous version, so don't hesitate to upgrade to the latest version (www.corefarm.org/participate) !!

The client is open source, so feel free to recompile it for windows 64 ;-) I only own a 32 bit machine;

Enjoy the corefarm,

All the best,

william

I just downloaded prone 0.1.4 for windows 32 bit and it still crashes.
when I look into the "shell" I see there prone 0.1.1 running an not 0.1.4 as I would aspect.

I could install a virtual linux maschine to run a stable prone, right ? :-)

kind regards
alain

In order to upgrade on Windows, you must:
1.download the new version, and remember where you put it;
2.if is running, kill the running prone.exe from the Task Manager (right-click on prone.exe, choose "End Process");
3.uninstal prone (Start>Programs>Corefarm>Uninstall Wirox);
4.double-click the new installer (see 1.)
5.the installation finishes with starting prone.exe

To participate:
1.log into your account at corefarm.org > Manager > Prone Configuration > Start contributing >
2.set the no. of cores you wish to participate with
3.you want you can allow prone to start cotributing as soon as windows is up.

Thanks regius, thats exactly how I did it but...
-it still crashs imediatly afer starting contributing
-and it doesn't explain why in windows pseudo shell tells mit that prone 0.1.1 instead of 0.1.4 is running

Kind regards

Hi Alain,

Well, this is pretty bad. ..

Can you try with prone 0.1.5 (http://www.corefarm.org/wiki/participate) ? you have a developement environment on your computer ? It is probably a library mismatch somewhere, we have to find what it is !!

Can you try to remove the file libxml2.dll from c:\program files\corefarm ?

And yes, prone in a virtualized linux should work, but it will not be efficient ..

Thanks for your feedback !

william

Hi William

I removed the libxml2.dll on prone 0.1.4 but I coudn't start it again because of the missing dll.
Now I have installed 0.1.5, it runs at the moment, I guess the critical moment is when prone gets a job to compute, let's wait an see :-)

And there is the right version number in the shell now as well ;-)

it seems to work at the moment, I see a job coming in and it didn't crash yet :-)
Cool I guess I can earn credits now :-D
